Design streets that move people—not just cars.

At Toole Design, we're leading the way in creating safer, more connected communities through sustainable multimodal transportation design. We're looking for a Senior Contract Associate to join our Contracts/Compliance team, someone who is energized to support and strengthen impactful transportation projects from behind the scenes by providing contract expertise, managing risk, and delivering operational excellence that helps bring our mission and values to life.

Why

You'll Love Working Here

We're a purpose-driven team of technical experts and operations professionals who believe streets should work for everyone. At Toole Design, you'll join a collaborative environment where operations professionals work alongside industry leaders, with mentorship and development opportunities designed to help you grow your expertise.

  • A collaborative, inclusive culture that supports your growth and advancement
  • A flexible hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely
  • 8 paid holidays; and at least 16 days of PTO accrual annually
  • Competitive salary, excellent benefits, and transportation perks
  • The opportunity to support projects that improve lives—advancing safe, inclusive design grounded in ethics, empathy, and equity
What You'll Do

You develop, review, negotiate, and administer agreements with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and partners while managing contractual risk and supporting successful project delivery. You partner with leadership, finance, legal counsel, and operational teams to support corporate governance, business compliance, and regulatory obligations, including tracking requirements, and assisting in coordinating filings across multiple jurisdictions. Working collaboratively across the organization, you identify contract and compliance issues, recommend practical solutions, guide agreements through their full lifecycle, from review through execution.

You will maintain accurate contract documentation, coordinate contract administration activities, and help ensure contractual obligations are met while supporting efficient business operations.

What You Bring
  • A JD or master's degree in law or related field; and/or 3+ years in contract management.
  • Five or more years of experience reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts, preferably within a professional services, consulting, architecture, engineering, or related environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contract terms, risk management principles, and contract lifecycle administration.
  • Experience supporting corporate governance, entity management, and multi-state compliance requirements.
  • Strong legal research skills with attention towards corporate structures and state compliance.
  • Experience independently analyzing complex contractual issues and developing practical, business-focused solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • A proactive, service-oriented mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and high-quality work.
  • An interest in contributing to a collaborative, values‑driven organization focused on making a positive impact in communities.
Salary

We are targeting a salary range of $80,000 to $100,000 for this position, with flexibility for well‑qualified candidates.

Equal Employment Opportunity

At Toole Design, we foster a collaborative culture and welcome people of all backgrounds to help build more inclusive communities. We strongly encourage women and applicants from underrepresented communities – people of color, LGBTQIA+, immigrants, first‑generation college students/graduates, those with disabilities and people at all the intersections in between – to apply.
