Role Summary
As the Global Category Manager for Semiconductors in the US, you will own the high‑stakes semiconductor category, leading strategy, negotiations and supplier relationships to ensure supply continuity and commercial value.
Responsibilities- Strategy & Annual Pipeline: collate market intelligence, supplier data and business requirements to formulate and execute a formalised global category strategy and initiative pipeline.
- Commercial Negotiations: lead high‑value commercial and contractual negotiations with strategic suppliers.
- Supplier Ecosystems: manage key global suppliers, establish development and innovation programmes, monitor value targets and manage supplier risks.
- Guidance & Content: develop and maintain category guidance documents to translate strategy into clear, executable content for procurement colleagues and business users.
- Business Partnering: build deep relationships with senior stakeholders, challenge demand/specifications to maximise value and manage risk/CSR reviews.
- Team & Budget Oversight: coach procurement colleagues, provide professional development, manage a shared Associate Category Manager and track budget spend.
Reports directly to the Senior Global Category Lead, Electronics & Systems, and collaborates with Category, Delivery, Procurement Center of Excellence and global business partners.
Qualifications- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree required (Business or Life Sciences focus preferred); post‑graduate business‑related qualification preferred. - Experience
: 8+ years of strategic and operational procurement experience with category management and advanced strategic sourcing; 8+ years overall business experience in a regulated industry such as Diagnostics. - Market Expertise
: deep knowledge of the semiconductor market, including foundry vs. fabless dynamics, silicon wafer supply chains, microcontrollers and allocation strategies. - Systems & Analytics
: expert proficiency in enterprise systems, P2P tools and procurement platforms (e.g., eSourcing, eAuction). - AI & Digitalisation
: advanced knowledge of AI application and a strong affinity for exploring AI‑driven solutions within digital transformation. - Financial Acumen
: proven understanding of total cost of ownership and cost modelling. - Leadership & Change
: strong communication, project management and change‑management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead global cross‑functional teams. - Languages
: business‑level fluency in English required. - Travel
: high flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
Base Pay Range: $99,500 – $184,900 annual based on primary location (Indiana). Discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance, along with participation in a long‑term incentive program. The position qualifies for the benefits detailed below.
