Legislative & Administrative Intern

IARCA - Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy is committed to fostering collaboration and advocating for high-quality services that support the well-being of children and their families. Through advocacy, support, and training, IARCA helps improve child welfare and strengthen communities across Indiana.

This is an internship role located on-site in Indianapolis. As an intern at IARCA, you will support projects that contribute to advocating for and improving services for children and families. Responsibilities may include conducting research, assisting with advocacy, managing administrative tasks, participating in program development, and supporting communication efforts. The position will provide valuable experience in child welfare, policy advocacy, and operational support.

This position will also likely assist with the IARCA Annual Conference in Plainfield, IN and potentially other in-person events.

2–6 Months

Start:
Early September to early November; possibility for extension.

Rate: $16.00–$17.50 per hour (based on experience)

• Research and analytical skills, including the ability to gather and synthesize information effectively
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and a passion for supporting child welfare initiatives
• Assist with event planning for professional development and advocacy events
• Support office management and administrative functions
• Provide legislative affairs support, tracking bills, attending briefings, and assisting with member communications
