Overview Philanthropy Services Officer – Intermediate

We are seeking a data driven, analytically curious, and service oriented philanthropy professional to join the IU Health Foundation's prospect development and research function. Day to day work is roughly a 50 to 60 percent split between standing deliverables, monthly dashboards, pipeline metrics, portfolio reviews and ad hoc requests from fundraisers and leadership that require nimble, accurate, and insightful responses. The ideal candidate has genuine experience in the philanthropy research discipline, is comfortable in data heavy environments, and brings a service minded, solutions focused approach to partnering with development officers across the Foundation.

The Scope:

This role advances the prospect development and research function for IU Health Foundation, including:

  • Conducting proactive prospect research using internal sources (patient and clinical feeds) and external tools (iWave, Donor Search) to assess giving capacity and inclination
  • Applying scoring and portfolio assignment criteria to balance and optimize fundraiser portfolios based on capacity and inclination alignment
  • Managing and enhancing the automated patient feed methodology in Salesforce that flags eligible patients for compliant and appropriate philanthropic outreach
  • Building and maintaining dashboards and reports that give leadership and development officers real time visibility into pipeline health and prospect prioritization
  • Producing focused portfolio review materials that support strategic conversation and effective decision making
  • Responding to ad hoc reporting requests from fundraisers and leadership
  • Collaborating closely with two data team colleagues on ongoing Salesforce optimization and related platform improvements
  • Refining research and reporting workflows, strengthening team standards, and maintaining policies that reflect best practices as new tools and predictive modeling capabilities come online
  • Reporting monthly metrics to leadership
Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for this position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires working knowledge of fundraising software (i.e. Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with prospect research tools such as iWave and Donor Search preferred;
  • Requires proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with a matrix organization and complex work environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills required; ability to translate data into actionable insights for fundraisers and leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
