The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily on-site operations of construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards and contract documents. This role serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field staff.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities from start to completion
- Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, labor, equipment, and material deliveries
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules to direct work accurately
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules to meet deadlines
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance
- Lead on-site meetings and communicate progress, issues, and solutions to project management
- Resolve field issues, conflicts, and unforeseen conditions efficiently
- Maintain daily reports, logs, and documentation
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities and ensure code compliance
- Protect company property, tools, and equipment on-site
