Construction Materials Testing Technician; ACI Concrete; ICC​/NICET Soils

Job Description

We are seeking CMT Technicians (mid/late Spring 2026) to join our team on large multi‑year projects. You will be part of seasoned, highly qualified teams that perform geotechnical and materials engineering, construction materials testing (CMT), and construction inspections on some of the most complex and transformational infrastructure projects in our region. Sign‑on bonuses are available for qualified candidates, and bonuses can be issued as certificates upon successful completion of required training.

• Perform construction‑related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
• Travel to various construction sites throughout the Midwest area, with the potential for overnight and/or weekend travel as needed.
• Relate information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in‑field decision making.
• Transport equipment, test specimens, and documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set‑up.
• Enter daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
• Perform field quality control tests of in‑place concrete.
• Perform field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Assist other technicians or professional staff on tasks and assist other departments as necessary.
• Follow Atlas’ safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• 2+ years construction or CMT experience (a plus).
• Willingness to learn and work any shift that is needed.
• ICC or ACI certifications (a plus).
• OSHA 10 (a plus).
• Ability to travel: options for full‑time travel, 50% travel, and local options in the Midwest area.
