Description

HEAPY Solutions continues to grow — and we’re looking for a Construction Project Manager with a mechanical focus to support projects in our established Indianapolis market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction career who’s eager to learn, grow, and gain hands‑on experience managing MEP infrastructure projects alongside an experienced team.

Does this sound like you?
  • Are you early in your construction career and excited to grow into a project management role?
  • Do you have a background or interest in mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, etc.)?
  • Do you enjoy being on-site, learning by doing, and seeing projects come to life?
  • Are you organized and detail‑oriented, with strong communication skills?
  • Do you thrive in a collaborative, team‑focused environment?

If so, this is your opportunity to build your career with a forward‑thinking company grounded in our Colleague First Values.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the full project lifecycle for MEP construction projects (typically up to $1M), with a focus on mechanical systems
  • Learn to manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality with guidance from senior team members
  • Serve as an on‑site point of contact, helping coordinate communication between clients, contractors, and project teams
  • Assist with project planning, documentation, and coordination of tasks across teams
  • Support on‑site supervision of construction activities, including equipment switchover work
  • Help ensure projects meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections to monitor progress
  • Deliver a Superior Client Experience while developing project management skills
This role is highly field‑based:
  • Year 1:
Full‑time, up to 5 days/week on‑site in West Lafayette, Indiana
  • After Year 1:
Supporting projects across Central Indiana, with a home base in Indianapolis

This is more than an entry‑level PM role — it’s a hands‑on opportunity to learn the business, gain field experience, and grow into a future project leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains a clear understanding of HEAPY’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrates alignment in all responsibilities and interactions
  • Supports project planning efforts, including scope definition, cost estimating, scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and project execution strategies
  • Participates in project costing, bid preparation, and contract review as needed to support successful project delivery
  • Travels regularly to job sites to monitor subcontractors, verify construction progress, and ensure work is completed safely and according to design specifications
  • Serves as an on‑site liaison between subcontractors, clients, vendors, and the HEAPY project team to ensure clear communication and alignment with project requirements
  • Verifies that safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies are followed on all active job sites
  • Assists with the review of drawings, submittals, contracts, and project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Supports project progress tracking, reporting, and documentation, including schedules, meeting notes, cost control, and progress billing updates
  • Coordinates and participates in progress meetings with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Identifies project risks, issues, or potential delays and escalates them appropriately to senior project leaders
  • Builds strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and reliable execution, contributing to a Superior Client Experience
  • Collaborates with senior project managers, operations managers, and practice leaders to ensure team alignment and timely project execution
  • Engages in ongoing technical and professional development aligned with individual and team OKR goals
