ABOUTTHE ROLE
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in planning and managing the successful completion of client projects and overseeing aspects of commercial construction projects, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Builds productive working relationships within the project team by helping communicate project needs, updates, and changes, and following up on questions, obstacles, or issues as directed.
- Helps communicate project expectations, updates, and deadlines to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner, while tracking project progress, milestones, and deliverables.
- Prepares and shares project status reports, updates, and supporting information as needed; documents problem areas, tracks follow‑up items, and communicates concerns to the appropriate team members to support project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinates communication between Valley, owners, representatives, advisors, customers, and General Contractors by routing project‑related questions, gathering information, supporting clarifications, and sharing updates on design issues, scope changes, quality concerns, or project delays with the appropriate team members.
- Maintains positive working relationships within the project team by helping communicate project needs, updates, and changes, and following up on questions, obstacles, or issues as directed.
- Reviews project plans, specifications, and requirements to support Superintendents and Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and day‑to‑day coordination. Gathers and organizes project information, helps identify potential issues, and communicates concerns related to delays, unexpected expenses, or project risks to the appropriate team members.
- Helps track project timelines, budgets, and quality requirements by monitoring assigned tasks, maintaining documentation, and communicating updates or concerns to the project team.
- Documents project risks, issues, or changes by gathering supporting information and helping coordinate follow‑up with the appropriate team members.
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
- 1-3 years’ experience and/or background in commercial construction and project management;
Drywall experience preferred - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and risk management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and vendors
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Driver’s License—ability to travel to job sites and other Valley locations when needed
