Regulatory Compliance Specialist
The Senior Safety Manager provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of safety management across multiple construction projects or a regional portfolio. This role ensures compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and embeds a strong culture of safety excellence throughout all project teams. The Senior Safety Manager serves as a trusted advisor to project leadership, supports field safety teams, and drives continuous improvement in safety performance, training, and compliance.

The Senior Safety Manager provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of safety management across multiple construction projects or a regional portfolio.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee safety programs across multiple construction projects to ensure compliance with corporate policies, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety plans, risk assessments, and emergency response procedures.
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to promote proactive safety engagement.
- Conduct and lead safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations; ensure corrective actions are tracked and implemented.
- Analyze safety metrics, identify trends, and develop strategies for reducing incidents and improving performance.
- Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to Field Safety Specialists and site personnel.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies, insurance representatives, and client safety departments.
- Support project bid and planning phases by reviewing safety requirements and estimating safety resources and costs.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning sessions for project teams.
- Ensure consistent documentation of safety activities, reports, and compliance records.
- Champion a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and safety leadership at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8-12 years of progressive safety management experience within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and other relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Proven success managing safety programs across large or complex projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in incident reporting systems and safety management software.
- Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CHST, CSP, OHST, or equivalent).
- Ability to travel to multiple project sites as required.
