Overview

The Superintendent I will oversee and coordinate Union Structural/Steel construction activities on-site. The Superintendent I will be responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This position requires strong leadership abilities, construction management experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1. Project Coordination and Management:
    • Coordinate and manage all construction activities on-site, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and equipment logistics.
    • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards, and implement corrective actions as needed to address deviations and issues.
  • 2. Subcontractor Management:
    • Supervise subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring they adhere to project schedules, quality requirements, and safety protocols.
    • Coordinate subcontractor activities, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance and direction to ensure efficient and productive workflow.
  • 3. Safety Compliance and

    Risk Management:
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on-site.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identify hazards and risks, and take corrective actions to mitigate potential accidents and injuries.
  • 4. Quality Assurance and Control:
    • Monitor construction activities to ensure workmanship, materials and installations meet project specifications and quality standards.
    • Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of construction and address any deficiencies or non-conformances in a timely manner.
  • 5. Communication and Reporting:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including project managers, clients, architects and engineers.
    • Provide regular progress updates, reports and documentation to project management and stakeholders, and address any concerns or issues proactively.
  • 6. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and supervise field personnel, including foremen, laborers, and subcontractors, to ensure they perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promote teamwork and communication, and provide mentorship and coaching to support professional growth and development.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in construction management or related field is preferred but not required).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management or related field, with a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification is preferred.
