As part of managing changes on active projects, the Project Manager may occasionally perform limited quantity takeoffs and estimating.

This position may be based at our headquarters in Gilberts, IL or from a remote office in Northwest Indiana. Working closely with superintendents and field leadership, the Project Manager will anticipate issues, coordinate resources, protect project margins, and help ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned projects after award through execution, completion, and closeout
  • Review contracts, proposals, project budgets, drawings, specifications, schedules, scopes of work, and other awarded project information
  • Establish and maintain a clear project execution plan in partnership with superintendents and field leadership
  • Coordinate scheduling, manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, logistics, and day-to-day project needs
  • Maintain accountability for project budgets, cost projections, billings, commitments, and overall financial performance
  • Identify changes in scope and prepare the limited quantity takeoffs, estimates, pricing, and supporting documentation needed to pursue change orders
  • Submit change proposals and follow through with clients until changes are resolved and incorporated into the work
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting records, schedules, reports, and client communications
  • Lead project meetings and represent the company in coordination with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
  • Monitor project progress, quality, safety requirements, and schedule performance while addressing issues proactively
  • Manage procurement and confirm that required materials, equipment, subcontractors, and information are available when needed
  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, follow-through, and practical problem-solving
  • Complete project closeout requirements, including final documentation, outstanding change management, punch-list coordination, and financial reconciliation
Growth Path Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of increasingly large, complex, and higher-risk projects
  • Strengthen project planning, forecasting, risk management, and margin protection
  • Lead clients and internal project teams with increasing confidence and independence
  • Mentor Associate Project Managers and other developing team members
  • Improve consistency in project documentation, communication, cost control, and closeout
  • Demonstrate readiness to lead multiple projects or major projects with limited oversight
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across project startup, execution, and closeout processes
Qualifications:
  • Ideally 5 or more years of relevant construction project management or field coordination experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage construction projects, budgets, schedules, documentation, and client relationships
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and change management
