Swift Air Mechanical is looking to add an experienced Regional Safety Specialist to our growing team!

The Regional Safety Specialist is  responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safetyof individuals working on residential and commercial construction projects across a specific geographic region.

The Regional Safety Specialist serves as the primary safety resource for assigned operating companies and construction projects within the region. This position will be based at Swift Air Mechanical and provide safety support, guidance, and oversight to two additional operating companies and their associated jobsites.

The Regional Safety Specialist is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture through field observations, audits, inspections, incident investigations, safety training, and regulatory compliance activities. This role partners closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, warehouse personnel, and field employees to identify hazards, reduce risk, ensure compliance, and support the successful execution of safety initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a visible, hands-on safety professional who enjoys spending time in the field, building strong relationships with operational leaders, and driving continuous improvement across multiple locations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities Regional Safety Support
  • Maintain a primary office location at Swift Air Mechanical while providing regular support to two additional business units within the region.
  • Travel routinely to active construction projects, service locations, warehouse facilities, and fabrication shops to conduct safety activities and support operations.
  • Develop strong working relationships with operational leadership and field personnel across all assigned locations.
  • Promote consistency in safety expectations, procedures, and compliance efforts throughout the region.
  • Serve as a trusted safety resource for project teams, supervisors, managers, and employees.
Construction Safety Compliance
  • Conduct routine jobsite inspections, facility assessments, and field observations at active construction and service locations.
  • Identify unsafe acts and conditions and collaborate with operational leadership to implement corrective actions.
  • Perform hazard assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) for high-risk activities.
  • Support compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and customer-specific safety requirements.
  • Participate in project startup meetings, pre-task planning activities, and site safety reviews.
  • Conduct warehouse, fabrication shop, and facility safety inspections.
  • Assist project teams in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
  • Maintain a visible field presence through regular interaction with employees and leadership.
  • Support customer, insurance, and regulatory safety audits and inspections.
  • Investigate workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, property damage events, near misses, and safety concerns.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and document findings within the company's safety management system.
  • Develop practical corrective action recommendations and track completion.
  • Analyze incident trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate incident records and required safety documentation.
  • Support workers' compensation management and return-to-work initiatives.
Safety Training & Employee Development
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations for assigned operating companies.
  • Deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and field leadership.
  • Coordinate and monitor required training through the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and employee safety meetings.
  • Support specialty safety programs including:
    • Fall Protection
    • Confined Space Entry
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety
    • Respiratory Protection
    • Hearing Conservation
    • Powered Industrial Trucks
    • Aerial Lift Safety
    • Hazard Communication
  • Assist with emergency preparedness planning and response drills.
Safety Program Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate training records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Track audit findings, observations, corrective actions, and training completion metrics.
  • Assist with OSHA recordkeeping and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare safety reports and presentations for operational and company leadership.
  • Support corporate safety initiatives focused on continuous improvement and injury prevention.
