Location: Whitestown

The Sixpence is a wedding and event venue located in Whitestown, Indiana, serving the greater Indianapolis area. Our 8,000-square-foot property sits on 17 rolling acres and features a scenic creek alongside three dynamic hosting spaces. Designed and purpose-built to support clients in hosting their dream wedding day, our facility functions as a beautiful blank canvas to set the perfect scene for weddings and events of any style.

The Sixpence team is committed to excellence in hospitality, a culture of aligned goals, compassion, and accountability.

With experience hosting around 150 events per year, we aim to continually elevate the Midwest wedding and event industry through our strong commitment to clients, couples, and professional partners alike.

Role Description

This is an on-site, part-time position. The Event Manager is a key member of The Sixpence team, responsible for overseeing weddings and events to ensure seamless execution and a consistently exceptional guest experience. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and the foresight to anticipate and resolve challenges before they arise. Event Managers serve as the primary point of contact on event days, working directly with clients, vendors, guests, and fellow team members to uphold The Sixpence standard of excellence and protect the integrity of our brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee seamless execution of weddings and events, ensuring timelines and expectations are met
  • Anticipate and resolve issues quickly and professionally
  • Communicate clearly with clients, vendors, guests, and team members
  • Support and direct staff, vendors, and clients throughout the event day
  • Uphold The Sixpence standard of excellence in service and guest experience
Qualifications
  • Strong leadership skills in managing internal staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Proven experience in wedding or event management
  • Weekend and evening availability required
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems quickly and thoughtfully
  • Skilled at setting and verbalizing expectations with clients and vendors
  • Detail-oriented, thoughtful, and committed to seamless execution
  • Dedicated to advancing The Sixpence brand through consistent, high-level performance
  • Part-time position
  • Weekend and evening availability required
  • Reports directly to the Director of Logistics and Planning
  • Based on-site at The Sixpence venue
