Digital Executive Producer

WISH-TV/MyINDY-TV 23 in Indianapolis is seeking a Digital Assignment Editor to lead the daily coordination of news and digital coverage across all platforms. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely coverage planning across all platforms and will coordinate daily news, digital coverage, and newsroom calendars.

The Digital Assignments Editor works closely with reporters, photographers, producers, editors and digital staff to lead daily coverage planning, respond to breaking news, and ensure WISH-TV is represented at key events, court cases, and community happenings.

• Oversee and organize the daily operations of the assignment desk and digital coverage
• Provide day-to-day leadership and direction at the assignment desk for coverage
• Coordinate and prioritize coverage needs, field crews, and logistics
• RSVP for and coordinate station coverage of press conferences, news events, court cases and community events
• Maintain and oversee newsroom calendars, including daily coverage plans and scheduled events
• Communicate coverage plans clearly and efficiently with newsroom
• Collaborate with reporters, photographers, producers, editors, and digital content staff to ensure thorough and timely coverage
• Assist with planning and execution of live and breaking news coverage
• Help support digital-first coverage decisions and content prioritization
• Assist with writing, editing, and publishing digital content
• Perform other duties as assigned based on station needs

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience:

• Proven leadership skills and leadership ability, particularly in a newsroom or coverage-planning environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced, breaking-news environment
• 2–3 years of experience in a newsroom or newsroom coordination role
• Excellent communication, editorial judgment, and time-management skills
• Experience working on an assignment desk, digital desk, or similar coordination role
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to quickly produce clear, accurate digital content under deadline
• Working knowledge of digital news workflows, breaking news coverage, and content prioritization
• Familiarity with newsroom calendars, coverage planning tools, and digital publishing platforms
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including news, digital, and marketing
• Experience with digital analytics, SEO best practices, and AI-based tools is a plus
