USHERS, HOUSE MANAGERS, PUB, AND BOX OFFICE VOLUNTEERS
Our volunteers are essential to the success of our productions. Whether you volunteer has an usher, house manager, or in the pub or box office, we appreciate your efforts to create a welcoming environment for our patrons. Footlite Musicals uses a volunteer management app, Civic Champs, where volunteers can sign-up for specific dates and positions. Two to three weeks before each show, the Volunteer Committee will provide a link to sign-up for shifts.
This link will be posted on this Facebook group, as well as posted to the Footlite website and emailed to the volunteer mailing list. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact our volunteer committee atvolunteer .
We are always looking for musicians to lend their talents to our musical productions. Directors and/or musical directors will determine who will participate in the ensemble, either by selection or audition. The amount of rehearsal time needed will vary from show to show and will depend on the difficulty level of the musical.
As Footlite is an all-volunteer organization, all work is on a voluntary basis and therefore not paid.
Your information will be held in a database maintained by Footlite Musicals’ directors. Directors will call to fill positions as needed. Musicians will be called only when positions are available! Please contact our volunteer committee volunteer for more information or to express interest in volunteering.
Each season, we seek director proposals from new and experienced directors. Proposals are typically requested in late summer, with the possibility of a required interview in September-October. Submit your application for the season by September 15:
Our seasons consist of:
- Productions in September, March and May for 3 weeks – 11 performances
- Cabaret-style production in January for 3 weeks – 9 performances
- Young Artist (ages 13-19) production in July for 2 weeks – 7 performances
To ensure success, we
strongly prefer
that first-time Footlite Musicals directors serve as an assistant director before leading a production. If you have not previously assistant directed at Footlite Musicals, please note the following:
- Your proposed staff must include at least one producer who has previously produced or directed at Footlite Musicals.
- A seasoned, experienced team greatly improves both your production and the likelihood your proposal is accepted. We encourage including Footlite Musicals “veterans” or providing bios for any new team members.
- We specifically look for prior experience at Footlite—or similarly sized venues—in your lighting designer, technical director, and stage manager.
