Mid-Shift Customer Service Representative

We are seeking an energetic, detail‑oriented, and proactive Mid‑Shift Customer Service Representative to join our team in Whiteland, IN. The mid‑shift is a critical window in transportation as standard business hours wind down and East‑to‑West coast transit transitions occur. In this role, you will be the bridge that ensures smooth handoffs, consistent tracking, and excellent customer support during our high‑volume afternoon and evening hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate, real‑time shipment status updates to customers via email in a professional and timely manner.
  • Closely monitor shipments that are en route to pickup locations to anticipate, identify, and resolve potential delays before they occur.
  • Assist with last‑minute, urgent shipment coverage needs, utilizing problem‑solving skills to find quick transit solutions.
  • Handle afternoon and evening incoming phone calls, managing end‑of‑day customer support inquiries with excellent service.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service, logistics, freight brokerage, retail, or hospitality is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or during urgent situations.
  • Strong computer skills, including comfort navigating data entry portals, tracking systems, and managing a high volume of emails.
  • Strict adherence to the mid‑shift schedule (2 PM - 11 PM) and a strong work ethic to close out the business day successfully.
  • A sharp eye for detail and the ability to think critically when unexpected logistical issues arise.
