Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to provide exceptional patient care through dental cleanings, preventive education, and strong patient relationships. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, compassionate, and team-oriented, with a passion for delivering an elevated patient experience while growing alongside the NMDE team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform thorough dental cleanings, preliminary exams, and new patient assessments, including comprehensive health histories
- Take and interpret dental radiographs; capture intraoral and extraoral photos for documentation and treatment planning
- Apply fluoride treatments and assist dentists during exams and procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment recommendations
- Maintain accurate patient records and update health histories
- Ensure operatory readiness, instrument sterility, and compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Address patient concerns and questions related to dental health
- Support smooth patient flow and appointment management within the office
- Participate in daily morning huddles to review schedules and coordinate patient care
- Enter accurate and complete treatment plans for review and presentation
- Coordinate doctor flow between operatories to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
- Support doctors in patient education to encourage case acceptance
- Provide professional patient handoffs to doctors, treatment coordinators, and front office staff
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflows, resolve issues, and advance office goals
- Uphold and model the office’s mission, vision, and values
- Valid Dental Hygienist licensure
- Degree in dental hygiene from an accredited university
- At least 1-2 years of experience in dental hygiene
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
- Active CPR Certification
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Proficient in dental software and technology
