Responsibilities:
- Training &
Education:
Deliver tailored workshops and training sessions for CNAs to improve oral health care practices in SNFs. - Resource Development:
Create and distribute educational materials such as guides, checklists, and videos to support oral health care routines. - Collaboration:
Work closely with SNF leadership and healthcare teams to align oral health education with patient care protocols. - Oral Health Advocacy:
Promote the importance of oral health in overall patient care, particularly for elderly residents with chronic conditions. - Support & Guidance:
Serve as a resource to CNAs, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting solutions for oral health challenges. - Evaluation:
Monitor the impact of educational programs and suggest improvements to enhance care delivery.
Qualifications:
- Certification or degree in Dental Hygiene, Public Health, or a related field.
- Experience working in healthcare settings, preferably with elderly or chronically ill patients.
- Knowledge of oral hygiene practices, dental conditions, and preventative care strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with CNAs and healthcare teams.
- Experience in training or educational program development.
Skills:
- Ability to present complex information in an accessible and engaging manner.
- Empathy and understanding when addressing oral health challenges in vulnerable populations.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple training sessions and create effective resources.
- Familiarity with SNF workflows and CAN responsibilities.
- Proficiency in data management & analysis.
- Relevant background in public health.
- Prior experience with grant writing preferred.
