Responsibilities:

  • Training &

    Education:

    Deliver tailored workshops and training sessions for CNAs to improve oral health care practices in SNFs.
  • Resource Development:

    Create and distribute educational materials such as guides, checklists, and videos to support oral health care routines.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with SNF leadership and healthcare teams to align oral health education with patient care protocols.
  • Oral Health Advocacy:

    Promote the importance of oral health in overall patient care, particularly for elderly residents with chronic conditions.
  • Support & Guidance:

    Serve as a resource to CNAs, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting solutions for oral health challenges.
  • Evaluation:

    Monitor the impact of educational programs and suggest improvements to enhance care delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or degree in Dental Hygiene, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Experience working in healthcare settings, preferably with elderly or chronically ill patients.
  • Knowledge of oral hygiene practices, dental conditions, and preventative care strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with CNAs and healthcare teams.
  • Experience in training or educational program development.

Skills:

  • Ability to present complex information in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Empathy and understanding when addressing oral health challenges in vulnerable populations.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple training sessions and create effective resources.
  • Familiarity with SNF workflows and CAN responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in data management & analysis.
  • Relevant background in public health.
  • Prior experience with grant writing preferred.
