Description
Business Assistant Be the reason a patient gets the care they need today. At Urgent Dental Center & Family Dentistry, we believe dental pain shouldn't have to wait. We believe dentistry should fit into our patients' lives, not disrupt them. By delivering same-day, comprehensive care whenever possible, we help patients get out of pain, restore their health, and avoid taking unnecessary time away from work and family.
We're looking for an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Business Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys helping patients navigate their dental care from the moment they walk through our doors.
This is much more than checking patients in and out. Our Business Assistants are the first impression of our practice and play a critical role in creating an exceptional patient experience while keeping a high-volume office running efficiently.
What You'll DoWelcome every patient with professionalism, empathy, and a sense of urgency.
Answer incoming phone calls by the second ring whenever possible, providing exceptional customer service on every interaction.
Keep the provider schedule optimized by actively managing openings, filling cancellations and confirming appointments
Learn and consistently follow our established front office workflows and standard operating procedures.
Ensure every patient completes all required electronic paperwork before their appointment.
Verify that all required treatment consents are accurately completed and signed prior to treatment.
Verify insurance benefits and accurately explain patient financial responsibility.
Present comprehensive treatment plans with confidence and compassion.
Offer financial solutions through Sunbit and other available payment options, helping patients move forward with the care they need.
Identify opportunities to convert diagnosed treatment into same-day care whenever appropriate.
Schedule follow-up appointments that support continuity of care while maximizing provider availability.
Collect patient payments and maintain accurate patient accounts.
Communicate effectively with doctors, EFDAs, office leadership, and fellow team members to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Maintain accurate documentation while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
Follow direction from leadership while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
What We're Looking ForSuccess in this role is measured by more than checking patients in and out. It's about creating an exceptional patient experience, helping patients move forward with needed treatment, and ensuring every day is as productive as possible for both the patient and the clinical team.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
A positive attitude and genuine passion for helping patients.
Ability to confidently discuss treatment plans, finances, and payment options.
Comfortable presenting larger treatment plans and helping patients overcome financial barriers to care.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced office.
Commitment to following established systems, workflows, and processes.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Dependable, coachable, and receptive to feedback.
A true team player who is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the office and patients.
Dental office experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual with the right attitude and work ethic.
Our Ideal CandidateYou thrive in a busy environment and enjoy staying one step ahead.
You don't wait for problems—you anticipate them.
You understand that every unanswered phone call, every missed scheduling opportunity, and every unfinished treatment plan represents a patient who may not receive the care they need.
You enjoy helping patients say "yes" to treatment by clearly explaining their options and offering financial solutions that make care affordable.
Most importantly, you're committed to doing your part to ensure patients receive the care they need—today whenever possible.
