A high-growth advanced manufacturing business is seeking a Senior Industrial Product Designer to define the visual identity, user experience, and form factor of next-generation industrial systems.
This role sits at the intersection of industrial design, user experience, and complex electro-mechanical engineering
, translating technical and brand requirements into world-class, production-ready industrial products.
- Define external form language, geometry, and overall product identity
- Create concepts, sketches, renderings, and refined design models
- Design enclosures, access panels, operator interfaces, and serviceability features
- Balance aesthetics, usability, and manufacturability
- Lead user-centered research to understand operator workflows and constraints
- Design intuitive interactions, ergonomics, sightlines, and safety considerations
- Incorporate real-world usage insights from customers and field teams
- Partner with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams
- Support DFM and design-for-serviceability discussions
- Align product aesthetics with brand and customer expectations
- Build and evaluate physical mockups and prototypes
- Participate in pilot builds to validate form factor and usability
- Work with suppliers on materials, finishes, and manufacturing methods
- Produce CMF specifications and design documentation
- Maintain industrial design standards and release-ready files
- Present concepts and final designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Degree in Industrial Design or related field
- 7+ years designing complex industrial or electro-mechanical equipment
- Experience with large equipment or machine enclosures preferred
- Proficiency in CAD and industrial design tools (Solid Works, Creo, Rhino, Key Shot, Adobe CC)
- Deep understanding of ergonomics, human factors, and user-centered design
