Senior Landscape Architect – Indianapolis

A leading multidisciplinary design and engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join its growing Indianapolis team. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across Indiana and the wider Midwest region, including public realm improvements, parks and recreation facilities, civic spaces, transportation corridors, educational campuses, mixed-use developments, and infrastructure-led landscape projects.

The successful candidate will contribute across all stages of project delivery, from concept design and stakeholder engagement through to technical documentation and construction administration, while providing leadership and mentorship within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects, including site planning, grading and drainage, planting design, hardscape detailing, and sustainable site solutions.
  • Prepare and oversee the production of construction documents, technical specifications, reports, visual presentations, and project deliverables.
  • Develop innovative design concepts and coordinate project documentation with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality control for junior landscape architecture and design staff.
  • Manage construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and coordination with contractors and clients.
  • Support client relationships, business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and interview presentations.
  • Collaborate with planners, architects, engineers, environmental specialists, and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Participate in community engagement and stakeholder coordination efforts where required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited programme.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional landscape architecture experience.
  • Professional Landscape Architect licensure (PLA/RLA) preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of site design, grading, planting, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and related design software.
  • Experience with Sketch Up, Rhino, Lumion, or other visualisation and 3D modelling platforms is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, project coordination, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced landscape architect looking to take on a leadership role within a well-established practice delivering impactful projects that enhance communities, public spaces, and the built environment throughout the region.
