This is a part‑time role for an Experienced Interior Designer located in Indianapolis, IN.
- Lead day‑to‑day interior design tasks: programming, adjacency studies, space planning, and test fits. Assisting New Business Development with initial meetings to discover client needs and project scope, on all sizes of projects with a focus on large scale, competitive, or phased project
- Attending new client interviews (as needed) to help win projects
- Prepare coordinated documentation in Revit (plans, RCPs, elevations, millwork details, schedules, and specifications).
- Select finishes and FF&E; coordinate with vendors for pricing, samples, and lead times.
- Produce presentation materials, renderings, and mood boards; participate in client meetings and incorporate feedback.
- Assist with code and accessibility research relevant to interiors (e.g., finishes, clearances, signage).
- Guiding and training Jr Designers and Interns
- Facilitating programming phase with client, including:
- Help track budgets, quantities, and product availability for FF&E packages.
- Guiding client with final finish selections to meet design intent.
- Field verifying client space, including taking field dimensions and verifying existing inventory
- Receiving final client approval of drawings.
- Working directly with Client Services to ensure excellence with the project process.
- Preparing installation documents, using Business Furniture standard installation and architectural symbols.
- Establishing a professional working relationship with the client and its end users as well as any subcontractors necessary on the job
- Attending pre‑install meetings to assist in coordinating project.
- Coordinating w/ Project Manager to ensure the project installation goes smoothly
- Attending all design, sales and marketing meetings, as well as other required meetings to be determined on both sides of the brand design and mind to ensure thriving corporate cultures.
- 5 or more years of professional interior design experience with coordinated project documentation
- Strong product knowledge of finish and furniture manufacturer partners such as Shaw, Steelcase, Hayworth, Formica and all the comparable brands.
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling programs
- Strong knowledge of space planning and specifying FF&E
- Great relationship building skills – ability to communicate clearly and effectively with client.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings such as plumbing locations and stud walls/columns.
- Demonstrating commitment to internal and external client service.
- Developing working relationships with sales team members
- Being meticulous with detail and accuracy in deliverables
