Automotive Styling Designer

We are seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Automotive Styling Designer with strong expertise in concept sketching and Alias Class-A surface modeling. The candidate will play a key role in translating design intent into production-feasible digital models, contributing across the full styling development cycle from ideation to final surface release.

Experience:

5-7 years. Portfolio is a must along with the resume for application.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality automotive sketches (2D/3D) to explore form, proportion, and design themes.
  • Develop advanced theme proposals including exterior and/or interior concepts.
  • Communicate design clearly through digital and hand sketches, renderings, and presentations
  • Collaborating with design leads to refine and evolving styling directions
  • Develop high-quality CAS and Class A surfaces using Autodesk Alias.
  • Translate sketches and clay scans into digital models
  • Perform surface refinement, continuity checks (G2/G3), and reflection quality analysis
  • Create production-feasible Class A Surfaces
  • Collaborate closely with Styling designers and engineering teams and deliver CAS and Class - A Surface models
  • Ensure design intent is preserved while meeting technical constraints
  • Participate in design reviews and provide digital modelling inputs
  • Manage iterations efficiently under tight timelines
Expertise in:
  • CAS modelling & Class A surfacing using Alias
  • Strong understanding of surface continuity (G0/G1/G2/G3)
  • Patch Layout
  • Reflection and highlight quality analysis
  • Tooling feasibility and engineering constraints
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in industrial design / Transportation Design
  • 5-7 years of experience in automotive or industrial design modelling
  • Prior experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers preferred
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating: CAS modelling/ Class A surfacing
