Location: Indianapolis

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) in conjunction with IU Health Medical Group (IUHMG) is recruiting an academic pediatric pathologist to serve the pediatric patient population of Indiana.

The selected candidate will join a growing team of experienced pediatric pathologists based at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis. The IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory (IUHPL) is located less than a mile from Riley and offers easy access to collaboration with a faculty of subspecialized academic pathologists.

This position provides unique flexibility to sign out on the adult service for those who wish to practice pediatric pathology at a dedicated children's hospital while maintaining other subspecialty expertise. A new onsite maternity tower at Riley affords opportunities for growth in perinatal and placental evaluations. The role is available on the clinical track; academic rank will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver professional diagnostic services in anatomic pathology
  • Provide diagnostic services for pediatric autopsy and perinatal pathology
  • Provide on‑call coverage and conference support with department faculty members
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical care team
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Support the rapidly growing pediatric divisions, including prominent pediatric gastrointestinal service
  • Support the pediatric oncology service with emerging precision genomics

Qualifications
  • Must be certified in anatomic pathology or anatomic and clinical pathology
