Position Overview
The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a board-certified Cardiovascular Surgeon with specialized training in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and provide advanced care for complex cardiovascular patients, including coronary revascularization, valve repair/replacement, and robotic valve operations. The role includes teaching and mentoring residents and fellows.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide complex cardiovascular surgical care, including minimally invasive and robotic procedures.
- Teach and supervise residents and fellows in clinical and surgical settings.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team-based care and quality initiatives.
- Engage in innovation, research, and advancement of cardiothoracic surgery techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD/DO degree.
- Board-certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
- Completion of general surgery residency and cardiothoracic fellowship (or integrated program), with additional training in minimally invasive/robotic cardiac surgery.
- Licensed or eligible for medical license in Indiana.
- Strong leadership, teaching, and collaborative skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship experience in minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery.
