Job Summary

A Medical Officer is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients by diagnosing illnesses, prescribing treatments, and ensuring effective clinical management. The role involves conducting medical examinations, responding to emergencies, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, ethical, and patient-centered care while complying with healthcare regulations and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients, assess medical conditions, and establish accurate diagnoses.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatment plans based on clinical findings.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as required.
  • Provide emergency medical care and stabilize critically ill or injured patients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records and documentation.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Coordinate with specialists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical ethics, infection control standards, and government healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in ward rounds, outpatient consultations, and clinical case discussions.
  • Supervise junior medical staff, interns, and nursing personnel when required.
  • Report communicable diseases and other notifiable medical conditions as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and clinical audits.
