St. Mary Catholic School is seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher for the  school year. The ideal candidate will create a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports students' continued growth in foundational academic skills, faith development, and social-emotional learning. The First Grade Teacher plays a key role in helping students build confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning while integrating Catholic values into daily instruction.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons aligned with academic standards and faith formation

* Focus instruction on building literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills appropriate for first-grade learners

* Incorporate Catholic teachings and values into classroom culture and curriculum

* Use differentiated instruction to meet a range of learning needs and styles

* Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment that supports both structure and creativity

* Monitor and assess student progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments

* Communicate consistently with families regarding academic progress and classroom updates

* Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, school initiatives, and faith-based activities

* Participate in school-wide liturgies, professional development, and community events

* Model Christian values and a strong commitment to Catholic education
