Classroom Paraprofessional​/Classroom Aide

The purpose of the Paraprofessional is to work at the building level to provide instruction and/or

support to students.

→ Prepare classroom activities under the supervision of a licensed teacher

→ Work with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher

→ Assist individual students in need of special attention

→ Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher

→ Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other forms of oral communication

with the students

→ Perform clerical duties

→ Assist teacher with non-instructional classroom duties

→ Participate in in-service training programs as assigned

→ Assist with the implementation of accommodations as specified in the IEP (when applicable)

→ Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Operations

→ Have completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education or hold an

associate degree or higher, or passed the Para Pro examination
