Position Overview

Geist Montessori Academy seeks enthusiastic educators to engage and inspire children in a Montessori learning environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about individualized education and desires to be a part of a team of dedicated educators who are lifelong learners. Lead teachers must be licensed educators holding a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and a valid teaching license for the State of Indiana.

Montessori certification is preferred. Tuition assistance is available for those seeking Montessori certification through an approved program. The ideal candidate believes all students can succeed and is a keen observer of student progress.

* Guide children academically, socially, and emotionally in a peaceful, prepared Montessori learning environment

* Use data to inform instruction and ensure that all students are supported in their learning

* Provide opportunities for real-life application of content and skills through community projects and study trips

* Work with colleagues to support all students academically, socially, and emotionally.

* Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment

* Evaluates each student's academic and social growth using the school's system of reporting

* Communicates clearly with parents and school faculty/staff on the progress of individual students

* Maintains care/responsibility for school-owned curriculum, supplies, materials, property, and equipment to prevent loss or abuse and teaches children the same

* Contributes to the culture of the school through committees, events, and/or extra-curricular activities

Qualifications Required

* Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Education or a related field

* Indiana Teaching License or an approved Transition to Teaching Certification

* Montessori experience and or training preferred
