Job Description

The Senior Associate Director, Pastoral Formation and Administration, ACE Teaching Fellows provides leadership and oversight for an array of administrative, communal, and spiritual elements of ACE’s Teaching Fellows program. The Senior Associate Director reports to the Director, ACE Teaching Fellows. Responsibilities include oversight of all pastoral and administrative dimensions of the Teaching Fellows Program including but not limited to the following specific areas of focus:

Pastoral Care
  • Supervise and mentor the Teaching Fellows pastoral/administrative team
  • Oversee the pastoral care of ACE teachers and ACE communities
  • Develop and manage the infrastructure programming to nurture the spiritual growth of the ACE teachers, including but not limited to the ACE Teaching Fellows retreats.
  • Work in conjunction with the Director, ACE Teaching Fellows, and the Senior Associate Director, Clinical Partnerships and Field Experience, to monitor the progress and holistic well‑being of ACE Teachers on a regular basis throughout the summer session and academic year
Operations and Administration
  • Develop policies and procedures related to Teaching Fellows administration and operations, including the regular revision of the program handbook
  • Support stewardship efforts for ACE Teaching Fellows, including grant writing and reporting, expanding benefactor networks, and other related activities
  • Oversee all elements related to ACE Teaching Fellows participation in Ameri Corps, including grant management and reporting, compliance, and communications
  • Develop and manage the TF Pastoral budget to ensure the financial vitality of the program.
Diocesan Relations and Cohort Construction
  • Oversee and evaluate placement requests from schools and dioceses in concert with the academic team.
  • In close collaboration with the Director, Teaching Fellows and the Senior Associate Director, Recruitment, oversee the candidate selection and placement process.
  • Strengthen existing diocesan and school partnerships and develop new partnerships for potential expansion of Teaching Fellows into new dioceses and schools.
  • Work with diocesan leaders, and other appropriate school leaders to obtain and maintain appropriate housing for ACE communities in each participating diocese.

Other duties as assigned by the Director, Teaching Fellows, the ACE Executive Director, and the Director of the Institute for Educational Initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Education

    Qualifications:

    Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelor’s
  • Experience:

    7 or more years
  • Skill

    Qualifications:

    Management and people skills are essential. Must have the ability to form and strengthen partnerships. Deep knowledge of Catholic schools and the Church is also critical. Teaching experience and/or significant professional experience/familiarity with Catholic schools is essential. Ability to work collaboratively as a team to achieve a common goal.
