The Department of Psychological Sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Purdue University invites applications for an academic-year (9-month) clinical assistant professor (non-tenure track) position based in Indianapolis.
The successful candidate will teach primarily undergraduate psychological sciences courses as well as play a key role in developing and implementing the department’s academic programs at Purdue in Indianapolis, an extension of the West Lafayette campus. Purdue-Indianapolis faculty will collaborate with West Lafayette faculty to ensure curricular alignment and program excellence, contributing to a collegial, innovative academic environment that emphasizes student success, experiential learning, and community engagement.
Thus, this faculty member will have the benefit of joining a large Psychological Sciences department with the opportunity to contribute to the expansion of Purdue’s land-grant mission through the development of urban-based educational programs. The successful candidate will help shape the growth of Indianapolis-based undergraduate programs while serving varied student populations and community partners in central Indiana.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, as well as experience or interest in program development, curriculum design, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
QualificationsApplicants should have completed a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field by Fall 2026, have a record of teaching excellence and innovation at the undergraduate level, as well as a collaborative and collegial approach to working with students, faculty, and staff. Experience with interdisciplinary health-related programs is desirable.
