Role Overview

The Learning Development and Technology Consultant will focus on researching, developing and/or implementing additional services that would benefit INDOT employees and the agency. This position will build and maintain relationships and communication with internal and external partners.

The Learning Development and Technology Consultant supports several programs, including, but not limited to:
Online training creation and updates, LMS (Success Factors) analysis, functionality, and reporting,
License Renewals, Professional Development Hours, and External Learning Requests. In addition to these programs, this position would be responsible for further researching and developing learning development opportunities for all departments and providing analysis of various learnings and trainings. This position will need to have LMS experience, specifically Success Factors, interpersonal skills, and a growth mindset. There is also an opportunity for this role assist in further managing INDOT’s LMS while expanding the learning development opportunities.

Salary

Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Partner with others to understand their specific training and staff development needs, conducting thorough needs assessments and gap analyses.
  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs that align with company goals and employee development needs.
  • Develop engaging training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, case studies, and simulations.
  • Provide expert guidance on the most effective training methods, formats, and delivery options based on the client's objectives and resources.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, adjusting content and delivery as needed.
  • Deliver high-impact training sessions using a variety of facilitation techniques, ensuring active participation and skill acquisition.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in training and development, bringing fresh ideas to client engagements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of training content.
  • Assist clients in establishing career development paths and strategies to foster employee growth and retention.
  • Offer insights and recommendations on improving existing training programs and processes.
  • Prepare detailed training proposals, including scope, objectives, methodologies, and timelines.
  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, maintaining clear communication and meeting project deadlines.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor in the field of training and staff development.
