Job Description

Every member of our team is a valuable resource in this pursuit of excellence, and we are currently seeking an Early Intervention Preschool Paraprofessional at Country Meadow Elementary.

What

your day will look like:
  • Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of activities including assisting in conducting training and learning activities with preschool children experiencing moderate/severe cognitive disabilities; performing routine clerical and supportive activities for instructional personnel, and performing other related work as required.
  • Work with individual or small groups of preschool students who have moderate/severe cognitive disabilities, as directed by the cooperative teacher. Students may also have physical, behavioral, and/or communication disabilities and/or autistic characteristics.
  • Make effective use of instructional materials and demonstrate effective methods of instruction to ensure that the individual student performance levels, needs, and abilities are addressed.
  • Assist students off the bus in the mornings and onto the bus in the afternoons.
  • Assist with getting student snacks and feeding students.
  • Assist students in the restroom, changing diapers, and assisting with medical needs.
  • Lifting students into and out of wheelchairs.
  • Exercise behavior management and maintain control of students assigned to your care.
  • Go through the Crisis Prevention Intervention training that is provided.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other para‑professionals in the Early Intervention Preschool classroom.
  • Work 37 hours per week.
