Special Ed Paraprofessional Position

Carroll Consolidated School Corporation is seeking a Paraprofessional to work individually or with small groups of students with disabilities at Carroll Jr/Sr High School as a member of the special education team. A Carroll Paraprofessional must be able to take initiative, demonstrate patience and flexibility. Candidates must be willing to learn strategies to assist students with academic and functional skills in order to find success in the school setting.

The position may involve supporting students with varying degrees of ability across multiple grades levels. Candidates will be placed in a position that fits their skill set and preference if possible.

This is an hourly position (approximately 35 hours per week) with insurance options available. This position is for the  school year. The begin date will be determined once a candidate has been approved through the hiring process.

• Provide individual/small group instruction as planned by the teacher.
• Assist students in the general education setting.
• Carry out clerical tasks assigned.
• Provide supervision as assigned.
• Assist students with functional skills/activities which may involve feeding, toileting, fine or gross motor skills etc...
• Respect confidentiality at all times.
• Work constructively with school personnel.
• Participate in pre-services/in-service training.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Lifting of students as demonstrated by teachers and/or therapists.
• Assist with Occupational and Physical Therapy Services.
