Location: Indianapolis

High‑School SPED Aide

At Christel House Indianapolis, we strive to create empowering opportunities through a rigorous and holistic education for all students and alumni, so they actualize their aspirations and develop effective leadership skills.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a full‑time High‑School SPED Aide. High‑School SPED Aides provide support to students needing additional assistance in meeting academic standards through small‑group, individual, and co‑instructional methods.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • In collaboration with teaching faculty, identify students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
  • Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
  • Monitor individual and/or groups of students to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
  • Provide re‑teaching and tutoring sessions around core instruction delivered by the classroom teacher.
  • Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans to present and/or reinforce learning concepts.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
  • Attend meetings and in‑service presentations to acquire and/or convey information related to job functions.

Requirements
  • Associate’s degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Competency in using technology.
  • Ability to report to work regularly and punctually.
  • Agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.
