Job Description

South Ripley Elementary is accepting applications for a Physical Education Coordinator position for the  school year. This is a 7‑hour day, 185‑day non‑certified position following the school calendar. The Physical Education Coordinator is responsible for organizing innovative games and challenges that promote physical activity among all students in grades PK‑6, helping develop motor skills, physical development, proper exercise, and healthy eating habits.

The coordinator must be knowledgeable about healthy life practices and apply them in daily relevant situations, and be flexible in engaging as an instructor for students across multiple grade levels.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in an educational setting, creativity, resourcefulness, enthusiasm for teaching and learning, strong classroom organization, and management skills. Compensation will be a daily rate in accordance with the non‑certified pay scale. This is a PERF‑covered position and eligible for the non‑certified benefits package.

Any new hire after July 1, 2009 will be required to complete an Expanded Criminal History at the employee's expense through the school‑approved vendor.
