Essential Functions
  • Co‑teach and assist with high school band and/or orchestra rehearsal, instruction, and concert preparation
  • Serve as lead instructor for non‑performance music courses (e.g., Piano Lab I & II, AP Music Theory/AP Music Theater, Social History of Rock and Roll)
  • Provide individual and small‑group instrumental coaching as needed; demonstrate proficiency in woodwind, brass or string instruments
  • Develop clear, standards‑aligned lesson plans and assess student progress with formative and summative measures
  • Contribute to curriculum development, classroom management, and a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families and colleagues
  • Co‑lead extracurricular rehearsals, concerts and other events; supervise students as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by building administration
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency on at least one instrument in the woodwind, brass, or string families
  • Experience teaching high school band, orchestra, or classroom music courses preferred
  • Strong skills in lesson planning, assessment, classroom management and collaborative program building
