Middle School Classroom Teacher Details 7-8:
The transition into 7th and 8th grade presents increased academic demands, particularly in literacy and mathematics. Data from formative and checkpoint assessments, classroom performance, and teacher recommendations indicate that some students require additional academic support in reading, writing, and math to meet grade-level expectations.
The Decatur Middle School Summer Learning Program is designed to provide targeted, engaging, and skill-focused literacy and mathematics instruction during a two-week intensive summer session. The program aims to strengthen foundational skills, build background knowledge, improve student confidence, increase reading comprehension, and better prepare students for success in the upcoming school year.
The location will be at Decatur Middle School. The curriculum focus will be on Math and ELA. The dates of this program are May 26th through June 11, 2026.
