Responsibilities include:

• Providing direct interpretation services for an elementary student in a 1:1 setting
• Facilitating communication between the student, teachers, and peers to support full classroom participation
• Collaborating with educators and staff to adapt materials and clarify instructions
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to guidelines within the school environment
• Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to student success plans

Desired skills and qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or ability to meet state interpreter requirements
• Experience working with children in educational settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to fostering an inclusive environment
• Previous 1:1 interpreting experience in schools is highly valued
