Position OverviewMill Creek East Elementary is seeking a passionate, student-centered Fourth Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for a one-year teaching contract
. We are looking for an educator who is committed to high-quality literacy instruction, collaboration, and fostering a positive learning environment where all students can thrive.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of evidence-based reading practices, experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs, and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues to support student success. Candidates with a background in the Science of Reading and an interest in integrating STEM concepts across the curriculum are strongly preferred.
Qualifications- Valid Indiana Elementary Teaching License
- Strong knowledge of literacy instruction and best practices in reading and writing
- Science of Reading training and experience preferred
- Ability to differentiate instruction based on student data and individual learning needs
- Commitment to collaborative planning and teamwork
- Strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills
- Experience integrating technology and STEM‑related learning opportunities into instruction
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional learning
- Deliver engaging, standards-based ELA instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards
- Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Collaborate with grade‑level teammates, intervention staff, and special education staff
- Foster a positive classroom culture focused on student engagement and achievement
- Support school‑wide literacy initiatives and Science of Reading practices
- Integrate critical thinking, problem‑solving, and STEM connections into learning experiences
- Maintain open communication with students, families, and colleagues
