Position: Travel Educational Interpreter - Boonville, IN

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support within educational settings. This role is based in Boonville, IN, and involves travel to various schools, offering a dynamic professional experience that bridges communication gaps and enhances learning for students with hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff by interpreting spoken language into sign language and vice versa.
  • Assist in classroom settings to ensure equal access to educational content for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop suitable communication strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support social interactions and extracurricular activities by providing interpretation services as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments.
  • Travel to multiple school locations within the region as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret accurately and fluently.
  • Previous experience interpreting in educational environments is highly preferred.
