Position: Adjunct Faculty - Information Technologies Support
Location: Lawrenceburg

Responsibilities

  • Adopt to create a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
  • Deliver assigned classes during daytime hours, in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
  • Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and foster a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and colleagues professionally and cooperatively and comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
Qualifications
  • A qualified faculty member in Information Technology Support meets the program standard through one of three routes:
    • Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology or an appropriate related field.
    • Or possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:
      • Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field.
      • Two years of in-field professional employment.
      • Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence, including date of award.
      • Documentation of research and publication in the field.
      • Documented relevant additional information technology coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject‑matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.
    • Or possesses an earned bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in information technology or related field, with documentation in two or more of the following:
      • Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field.
      • Two years of in-field professional employment.
      • Documented evidence of teaching excellence in information technology, including date of award.
      • Documentation of research and publication in the field.
      • Documented relevant information technology coursework in addition to the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject‑matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.
