Job Summary

Skilled US is seeking a dynamic, experienced Advanced Manufacturing + Robotics Instructor focused on the MSSC CPT 4.0 + Robotics standards to deliver hands‑on, industry‑aligned training for adult learners preparing for careers in advanced manufacturing and automation. This part‑time, in‑person role focuses on teaching the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT 4.0) curriculum alongside foundational robotics and automation concepts, preparing students for entry‑level roles in modern manufacturing environments.

The instructor will combine technical instruction with workplace safety (OSHA 10/30), career readiness, and real‑world application to ensure students are fully prepared for employment. This role requires strong facilitation skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to connect training directly to employer expectations and job outcomes. This role supports students in building critical career skills, including attendance, teamwork, leadership, communication, accountability, and jobsite safety, while helping them earn industry‑recognized credentials aligned to employment and apprenticeship pathways.

Hours

Skilled US will be hiring two part‑time instructors to support training delivery across multiple schedules. Instructors will support one of the following blocks based on availability and program need:
Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 1:00 PM–5:00 PM, or 4:00 PM–9:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver MSSC CPT 4.0 curriculum, including:
    • Safety
    • Quality Practices & Measurement
    • Manufacturing Processes & Production
    • Maintenance Awareness
  • Facilitate hands‑on training in robotics and automation fundamentals, including:
    • Basic robotics systems and components
    • Sensors, actuators, and controls
    • Introductory PLC concepts and automation workflows
  • Provide OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 instruction aligned with workplace safety standards
  • Use real‑world scenarios, simulations, and project‑based learning to reinforce concepts
  • Integrate workforce readiness skills into daily instruction
Curriculum & Lab Management
  • Align training content with MSSC standards and employer needs
  • Maintain and manage robotics kits, automation tools, and training equipment
  • Ensure all instructional materials meet safety and compliance requirements
  • Adapt the curriculum based on student needs and labor market demand
Student Support & Engagement
  • Support adult learners with varying skill levels and backgrounds
  • Track student progress through assessments and skills evaluations
  • Provide coaching on attendance, accountability, and workplace expectations
  • Prepare students for MSSC certification exams and employment readiness
  • Identify and support students at risk of disengagement
Workforce Readiness Integration
  • Reinforce professional behaviors, communication, and job readiness skills
  • Support resume development, interview preparation, and career planning
  • Connect training to real job opportunities and career pathways
Employer & Industry Engagement
  • Collaborate with local manufacturing employers to align training with workforce needs
  • Support work‑based learning, site visits, and hiring pipelines
  • Participate in employer engagement efforts, advisory meetings, and workforce events
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, student progress, and certification outcomes
  • Track MSSC certification attainment and OSHA completion
  • Support reporting requirements for WIOA, grants, and internal performance tracking
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5–7+ years of experience in manufacturing, robotics, automation, or related field
  • Ability to obtain a Valid Indiana Workplace Specialist License, or eligibility based on 5–7+ years of Manufacturing industry experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT) certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience teaching or training adult learners
  • Knowledge of robotics systems, PLCs, or industrial automation
  • Experience in workforce development or training programs
