We're looking for a high school English teacher who would also teach social studies.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English (and Social Studies) instruction.
- Develop and implement curriculum that promotes critical thinking and real-world application of reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Use procedures to post syllabus, projects/lessons, and grades to the online student information system accessible to students, parents, and the community.
- Maintain a classroom environment consistent with established codes of conduct and conducive to positive learning.
- Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff.
- Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Administer frequent formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress.
- Analyze data to make instructional adjustments to improve student learning.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and mastery of standards.
- Communicate electronically with students, parents, and other staff members concerning student academic progress, attendance, and behavior.
- Collaborate with other personnel to improve instructional programs and the overall operation of the school.
- Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.
- Participate in professional learning focused on student achievement and instructional practices.
- Communicate regularly and foster partnerships with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations and to support student learning at home.
- Support school-wide initiatives and improvement goals.
- Uphold all district policies, procedures, and state requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Indiana Teaching License (English 9-12) or REPA/REPA 3:
Language Arts 5-12
Preferred Qualifications: Indiana Teaching License (Social Studies 5-9; Social Studies 5-12)
