Role Overview

As the Adult Education Outreach Coordinator, you will be responsible for connecting Hoosiers to adult education services and community resources to advance their education, training, and career needs. You will help prospective students and providers identify, understand, and effectively make connections through a coordinated referral network. This position serves as the point person for public referrals and is responsible for tracking student connections through the adult education system.

Providing guidance to individual students is part of this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for this position. The Outreach Coordinator creates a monthly newsletter providing a digital communication platform to share information with the adult education field and presents outreach and marketing information on a monthly webinar. This position will maintain and create new posts for the adult education social media library and should be versed in all social media platforms.

The incumbent will be the adult education point person for marketing and should be familiar with writing press releases and marketing resources. Strong skills in technology and the following software;
Microsoft Office, Canva, Marq are required. Proficiency in ArcGIS and Tableau are preferred. An associate's degree in business, social services, communications, or a related field is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Location

This position is onsite at Indiana Government Center South, Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.

Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Monitor key performance indicators to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and monitoring all policies and procedures related to the program area.
  • Answer customer questions about program policies and procedures.
  • Act as technical consultant to stakeholders to clarify and interpret policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and disseminate monthly and annual program reports.
  • Review the budget and program assets are allocated appropriately.
  • Monitor compliance and make recommendations to the program to increase efficiencies.
  • Prepare training materials and train agency employees on program requirements and usage.
  • Deliver communication plans and communications.
  • Serve as a liaison between agency and other state and federal agencies.
