Elementary Sports and Fitness Instructor

Buildings:
Rome City and Wayne Center - candidate will split time between both locations.

This position will start with the  school year, August 3, 2026.

Classified Position:
Candidate in this position works approximately 7 hours per day, 183 school days per year.

Elementary Sports and Fitness Instructor, non‑licensed candidate starting pay is $22.01 per hour. Licensed candidate starting pay is $26.39 per hour.

Engage K‑6 students in the development of health and sports skills through structured activities, assist in planning and execution of plans for a remediation and enrichment period to support the general education curriculum, and carry out other supervision duties as decided by the building principal.

Bachelor Degree in physical education preferred; however, training or experience in sports and fitness or other related health and fitness areas is considered.

• Works cooperatively with teacher(s) and other staff

• Minimum of 60 college credits
• Associate's Degree
• Paraprofessional certification
• Or be willing to take and pass Paraprofessional certification test
