Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) is a fully accredited ecumenical graduate school in Indianapolis, IN, related to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and serving the whole people of God. We welcome all faiths to explore/engage in an intellectually rigorous, spiritually formative, and emotionally supportive education that equips our students to go out into the world and serve—whether in the church or the community.
CTS also offers a robust counseling program that provides professional counseling preparation and spiritual/theological integration for those training to become mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, pastoral psychotherapists, and spiritual care specialists.
The Assistant Professor teaches graduate courses, develops and organizes course curriculum and instructional materials, conducts research in the field of expertise, serves as academic advisor to students, and provides service to the department, school, or public through committee work and volunteer activities.
Essential Functions- Full-time, tenure-track appointment with faculty rank.
- Faculty workload: 15 credit hours per academic year, including 9 credits of teaching (three courses) and 6 hours of practicum supervision (equivalent to 6 credit hours).
- Year‑round (12 months) counseling supervision/field experience practicum.
- Active participation in the faculty’s collaborative preparation for the program’s CACREP accreditation.
- Committee service.
- Meaningful participation in a collaborative learning community in alignment with the Faculty Handbook.
- Participation in outreach, open house events, admissions, and student recruitment activities.
- Other assigned duties.
