Cascade High School is seeking a qualified
Adjunct Faculty member in Politics and Economics
for the academic school year. This position is hired each semester on an as-needed basis and will work in partnership with
Ivy Tech Community College
to provide students with high-quality dual credit instruction.
The Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for creating a learning environment that supports student success and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
Major ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include:
- Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives
- Use available technology to enhance instruction
- Supplement and adapt lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate
- Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation
- Engage students in meaningful and productive ways that positively impact learning
- Demonstrate effective teaching strategies, including strategies that support online learners
- Interact professionally and cooperatively with students, co-workers, and administration
- Maintain a safe, high-quality educational environment
- Promote an inclusive environment that reflects the diverse backgrounds of students and staff and ensures all individuals feel respected and valued

Ivy Tech Community College Program Chair

A qualified candidate must meet the educational requirements for the Politics and Economics discipline through one of the following routes:
- Possess an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in
Politics and Economics
, or - Possess an earned master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in any field
with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Politics and Economics-related coursework
, including coursework in
statistics and/or research methodology
Candidates must also meet
Ivy Tech Community College's approval requirements to give college credit
.
