Hours:
2:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Practice days)
Game Days: 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Stipend: $1,050 paid at end of the season
OverviewAdelante Schools is a non‑profit school management organization in Indianapolis, Indiana, building a network of outstanding public schools in the city serving families with students in grades K-8. Our mission is to create joyous neighborhood schools, preparing all scholars to graduate from college and lead lives of leadership and service to Indianapolis.
Qualifications- Experience playing and/or coaching volleyball
- Ability to motivate, teach, and recruit qualified student‑athletes
- Strong interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to handle stressful situations and keep tempers in check
- Familiarity with the school’s community and/or staff
- Exhibits high standards of professional ethics and conduct
- Physical stamina: reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; lift up to 15 pounds, sometimes up to 50 pounds
- Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to demonstrate proper techniques and skills needed for athletic participation
- Collaborate with Athletic Coordinator to set practice schedules and travel plans
- Plan, organize, promote, and conduct tryouts and selection processes
- Coach during each game, including enforcing discipline, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles
- Develop appropriate training programs and practice schedules tailored to each student‑athlete
- Maintain team records, complete required paperwork, and report progress to Athletic Coordinator and Principal
- Travel with student athletes and team personnel on the team bus to and from games
- Supervise student‑athletes in locker rooms at home and away games, ensuring appropriate behavior
- Represent the school and district professionally in all interactions with students, parents, officials, and the community
The work is primarily outdoors with occasional exposure to weather conditions. The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, and speak frequently and sometimes loudly. The employee may need to crawl, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and may be required to lift up to 15 pounds and sometimes up to 50 pounds.
