Substitute Teacher

Duties may differ depending on the school building, class level, and teacher's field of expertise. In most cases, substitutes will follow the curriculum as provided by the principal or teacher, provide appropriate classroom management, and remain familiar with all emergency procedures. Substitute teachers must represent Monroe-Gregg School District in a professional manner at all times.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Follow established protocols for student attendance.
• Follow safety and security procedures at all times.
• Prepare educational materials and follow lesson plans as outlined by the certified teacher.
• Oversee school equipment and ensure appropriate student use.
• Keep record of any pertinent student information/observations to share with the certified teacher.

Essential

Qualifications:

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to hold or obtain an Indiana Substitute Permit.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen per district policy.

Compensation:
With a degree- $90.00 daily rate Without a degree- $80.00 daily rate
